Doing Digital Democracy
Doing Digital Democracy capitalizes upon developments in technology to substantially expand the reach and impact of our civic engagement work. Its children's component promotes learning, civic engagement and literacy -- including cultural literacy -- through new technology to prepare children for an active and engaged adulthood.  An exciting element of this project expands cultural literacy by connecting children in the United States with children across the globe.
Doing Digital Democracy leverages the Jamestown Project’s existing initiatives and relationships such as Stephanie Robinson’s role as political commentator on the Tom Joyner Morning Show where her voice currently reaches as many as 10 million listeners.  Doing Digital Democracy allows us to connect her commentaries to community conversations, where we can provide the necessary tools and supportive environment to promote change and actual community involvement.

Going forward, the Jamestown Project will utilize these strategies to deepen its impact with Rap Sessions and our Storytelling Project .
